The City of Jasonville through the Parks Department and the Volunteer Fire Department has been awarded a $9,000 grant. $1,000 will be used to install weather sirens and expand the warning system in Jasonville and the surrounding area. The Jasonville Park Board will receive $8,000 to use at matching funds for the installation of a SPLASH Pad at the City Park. Congratulations Jasonville!
The Greene County Literacy Coalition is receiving a two-year grant to implement “free libraries” throughout Greene County, one in each of the county’s sixteen townships. The two-year grant will provide 8 libraries in 2016 and another eight in 2017. Currently four townships in Greene County do not have public library services, the free libraries will be a start.
