Dale and Tillie Jessup Scholarship
The Dale and Tillie Jessup Scholarship is intended for graduating high school seniors who have attended a Greene County high school for all four years and have been a resident of Greene County or Clay County for those four years. Applicant must be planning to major, on a full-time basis, in agriculture or an agriculture-related field.
Dale and Tillie Jessup established a unique scholarship fund for Greene County high school graduating seniors. The Jessup’s donated 100 acres of farm land to the Foundation. The land is leased for farming and the proceeds are used to provide scholarships to students in financial need.
Students awarded the Jessup scholarship as a graduating high school senior may re-apply in subsequent years for additional awards.
Eleanor B. Turner Memorial Scholarship
The Eleanor B. Turner Memorial Scholarship is intended for a graduating senior from Bloomfield High School who will be pursuing a career in business, finance, or accounting.
Eleanor Turner was born in Rhineland, Missouri in 1913 where her family owned a large dairy farm. After graduation from Hermann High School in 1931, Eleanor taught elementary school for some time before getting a job at Landmark Union Trust in St. Louis where she was a bank auditor for 25 years. In 1976, Eleanor and her husband, Ervin, retired to Palm Harbor, Florida. After her husband died in 2000, she continued to live there until 2007; she then moved to Bloomfield to be with her granddaughter, Cynthia Ferguson, and Cynthia’s husband, Jason. Eleanor passed away in July 2009 at the age of 96.
This scholarship was established by Cynthia in memory of her grandmother.
Note: The Eleanor B. Turner Memorial Scholarship will be open for applicants in 2021 and then even-numbered years (e.g., 2022, 2024, etc.)
Faith Christian Scholarship
The Faith Christian Scholarship is for graduating high school seniors who attended any Greene County high school at the time of graduation; it is also open to home-schooled students who are graduating. Applicants must be planning to attend a two- or four-year accredited post-secondary institution in Indiana.
The Faith Christian Scholarship is a donor-advised scholarship established by the deacons of Faith Christian Church in Bloomfield as a result of a bequeath by Francis Gainey. Ms. Gainey understood the importance of education and wanted to help students attend college, who might not otherwise have the family support or means to attend. The scholarship will be renewable for up to four years, based on academic performance. Students will need to show proof of their academic progress each spring semester to be considered for scholarship renewal; a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher will be considered adequate.
Hollee Lent Nursing Scholarship
The Hollee Lent Nursing Scholarship is intended for graduating high school seniors from any Greene County high school who intend to enroll in a nursing program at Vincennes University, Ivy Tech, Indiana State University, or Lincoln Trail College. Greene County residents out of high school are also eligible, with preference given to divorced/single, working mothers.
The scholarship is renewable for a second year if the student presents written documentation of acceptance into a nursing program and has maintained a “C” average. 50% of the annual scholarship award amount will be awarded the first year of the scholarship; 150% of the amount will be awarded the second year upon the recipient’s acceptance into a qualifying nursing program.
Hollee Lee Lent was a registered nurse at Bloomington Hospital when she passed away on August 19, 2005, at the age of 30. The Hollee Lent Nursing Scholarship was established by members of her family who wished to remember her and her caring spirit.

Jaden Lauderdale Memorial Scholarship
The Jaden Lauderdale Memorial Scholarship was established in 2017 by Doug and Jessica Lauderdale in memory of their daughter. Jaden was a 14 year old with a huge heart and always thought of others. She was waiting for a heart transplant at Riley. Her family wanted to continue Jaden's giving attitude by presenting an annual scholarship to one Greene County senior seeking a 2 or 4-year degree in the medical field.
Northwest Bank/Ivy Tech Scholarship
The Northwest Bank/Ivy Tech Scholarship is intended to honor a graduating senior from Greene County who will be attending Ivy Tech Community College. Awarded to individuals who exhibit achievement through the exercise of good character, perseverance, and determination.
Stanley Barkley of Bloomfield established the Northwest Bank/Ivy Tech Scholarship Fund in 2005.
Special Achievement Scholarships
These scholarships are intended for graduating seniors from each Greene County high school who intend to enroll as full-time students at an accredited college or university.
The Special Achievement Scholarships were established by the Greene County Foundation Board of Directors to honor the special achievements of graduating high school seniors. One award shall be given for each Greene County high school.
